Kucha [Maris limus (Sea silt)]

Marine Silt

– SEA SILT

Area of production: Okinawa Prefecture (Japan)

Kucha is special clay with the finest particles and is only found in certain parts of Okinawa. It is the result of the yellow dust from mainland China that made its way into the seawater of Okinawa. Carried by the westerlies, the fine dust particles have accumulated on the bottom of the sea over the course of millions of years. It is rich in calcium and magnesium. Because of its strong static electrical charge, it effortlessly draws out impurities and powerfully cleanses the skin.
